The bad review stems from bad warranty support and a broken eye insert. I went fishing the next day after getting the pole, and after catching a couple of fish my line kept breaking and throwing my lures off. After inspecting the pole. The small black insert inside of one of the eyes had broken and was cutting the line. I got in touch with abu Garcia about it. They told me what they needed from me to start the warranty process, so I emailed them everything and never heard a response back. Other than this the reel felt great and the pole has great action to it.

Has to be one of or the worst rod I've ever used. Terrible drag it fell off when tried to tighten drag, has spoiled at-least 30 times this spring. A rod can seriously not get any worse.

This is an amazing setup! Bought a second one because I liked it so much. I have never had issues with this rod or reel, they both hold up great and I never have to worry about having problems when I go out. Control and durability of this reel is unmatched for this price. Great color and design on this setup also! Highly recommend.

i bought this about 2 weeks ago it came with a bent eye on the rod which was disappointing but not a deal breaker, although the reel is excellent
